Contact Livingston County Records

Livingston County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. The Sheriff, Jail, police department, court, Illinois DOC, BOP, or ICE must answer the underlying question.

Official Livingston County Contacts

Use the office that created or holds the record. The county has no verified public booking roster on the reviewed pages, so a current-custody question begins with the Jail and a past booking or photo question usually needs a specific written request.

The county FOIA page says written requests may be emailed, mailed, faxed, or delivered in person. It states a five-business-day response period, with the first 50 black-and-white pages free and $0.15 per page after that as intended by the posted wording. Confirm current fees before requesting color copies or certification.

Where Each Question Belongs

Routing the question correctly saves time and keeps the county record separate from a state or federal file.

  • A current jail or detainee question goes to the Jail contact and visitation route, not a search partner.
  • A booking record or photograph request goes to the arresting agency or the Sheriff FOIA officer, asking for the photo if available and releasable.
  • A court hearing, charge, disposition, or sentence belongs with the Circuit Clerk and Judici, using Livingston court code IL053015J.
  • A state-prison or parole question belongs with the Illinois DOC offender search.
  • A federal inmate or ICE detainee question belongs with the official BOP or ICE locator, not the county Jail roster.

Pontiac, Dwight, and Fairbury police departments keep their own records. The city page for the arresting agency gives the local contact and FOIA details. A city police report and a county jail intake are related but different records.

What to Include in FOIA

A specific request should include the person’s full name, approximate arrest or booking date, arresting agency, place, and the exact record sought. Ask for arrest time and location, charges as recorded, custody receipt, discharge or transfer, and a photograph if available and releasable. A case or incident number helps when known.

Requests should not ask the office to create a new summary. Ask for existing records and ask the custodian to identify the proper agency if it does not hold the record. Save the sent request and response.
